Opposes proposed reductions to federal funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), specifically opposing draft budgets proposing a 97 percent funding cut.

Identifies the Great Lakes as holding 20 percent of the world's surface freshwater and 90 percent of U.S. surface freshwater, providing drinking water to over 30 million people and supporting 1.5 million jobs generating $62 billion in wages.

Notes GLRI has invested more than $2 billion in over 2,900 projects since 2010, including more than $425 million for over 500 projects in Michigan alone, with an estimated return of $2 in economic benefits for every $1 invested.
