Urges the state of Michigan and the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus to engage in a meaningful scientific exchange with the African Great Lakes Conference via the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region

Highlights that the North American Great Lakes hold approximately 20 percent of the world's surface freshwater and support a $6 trillion regional economy across manufacturing, tourism, recreation, shipping, agriculture, and fishing

Notes that the African Great Lakes system holds 25 percent of the world's surface freshwater and includes three of the world's largest freshwater lakes outside North America: Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Malawi/Nyssa/Niassa

Identifies common concerns between both regions including climate change impacts, sustaining fisheries, and balancing multiple competing uses of these large freshwater systems

Requires copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Executive Director of the Michigan Office of the Great Lakes and members of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus Executive Committee
