Supports the National Park Service designation of the Flint River Water Trail and Shiawassee River Water Trail as national water trails under the National Water Trails System.

The Flint River Water Trail encompasses 73 miles through Genesee and Lapeer counties with 24 established access sites, serving 500,000 local residents and hundreds of thousands more within an hour's drive.

The Shiawassee River Water Trail extends 88 miles from Holly to Chesaning with multiple existing access sites and planned expansions, supporting diverse fish species and rare plants while traversing communities and historic sites.

National water trail designation provides communities with tourism and economic benefits, technical assistance, and funding opportunities for water trail planning and improvement projects.

Directs transmission of this resolution to Michigan's congressional delegation and relevant National Park Service officials.
