Notes that paddle sports contribute over $140 million annually to Michigan's economy and are one of the fastest-growing outdoor activities in the nation.

Arguments against registration fees include that most paddlers use inland waterways and rivers where state boat launches designed for powerboats provide minimal benefit, and that paddlers already purchase recreation passports for state site access.

States that registration fees would burden residents and curtail growth of a family sport that provides access to water resources for those unable to participate in powerboating.

Directs copies of the resolution to be transmitted to members of the Michigan State Waterways Commission.
