Honors Hmong Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans' Recognition Day in Michigan on May 14, 2018, commemorating Hmong soldiers who served in the Secret War of Laos (1961-1975) under U.S. military direction during the Vietnam War.

Recognizes that approximately 35,000 Hmong SGU veterans were killed during the Secret War, and surviving Hmong populations in Laos faced ongoing retaliation and genocide following the war's conclusion.

Acknowledges the Hmong veterans' critical contributions including providing intelligence, rescuing American soldiers, and blocking North Vietnamese use of the Ho Chi Minh Trail to South Vietnam.

Notes that Hmong veterans and families received political asylum, refugee status, and citizenship due to their unique service to the United States, with May 14, 1975 marking the last CIA withdrawal from Laos.

Recognizes the Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans and Families of Michigan Inc. (SGUVFM) organization and its mission to advance economic conditions, educational attainment, health, and civil rights for Michigan's Hmong community.
