Declares May 15, 2018, as Chaldean American Day to recognize the contributions of the Chaldean American community in Michigan.

Notes that approximately 160,000 Chaldeans reside in Michigan, the largest population outside of the Middle East, with immigration beginning in the 1920s.

Recognizes that Chaldean Americans have established 20,000 businesses in Michigan, with nearly two-thirds of Chaldean households owning at least one business and 39 percent owning two or more.

Acknowledges the Chaldean community contributes an estimated $11 billion annually to Michigan's economy and the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce has 975 members representing over 4,000 businesses.

Directs that copies of the resolution be sent to the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and Chaldean Community Foundation as recognition of their contributions to Michigan's diverse history.
