• Creates permits for medication aide trainers (who must be registered professional nurses) and medication aide training programs, with requirements that programs incorporate the National Council of State Boards of Nursing medication assistant-certified model curriculum.

• Sets biennial fees of $20 for nurse aides and annual fees of $64 for medication aides; establishes $500 annual fee per site for medication aide training programs and $125 per competency examination.

• Creates the nurse aide and medication aide registration fund within the state treasury to receive and retain fees, with funds appropriated only for implementing the nurse aide and medication aide registration programs; effective 90 days after enactment.
