Changes preelection campaign statement filing deadline from the eleventh day to the twenty-fifth day before an election, with closing date moving from the sixteenth day to the twentieth day before the election.

Changes postelection campaign statement filing deadline from the thirtieth day to the twenty-fifth day following an election, with closing date moving from the twentieth day to the twentieth day of the month following the election.

Adds new subdivision (c) to both sections 33 and 34 establishing different, earlier filing deadlines for presidential primary elections and special elections held on non-regular dates (eleventh day before, sixteenth day closing date for preelection; twenty-fifth day following, twentieth day closing date for postelection).

Applies to candidate committees, ballot question committees, and other political committees required to file campaign statements under Michigan campaign finance law.

Takes effect January 1, 2021.
