• Amends the Motor Vehicle Repair Act (1974 PA 300) to modify section 2 definitions related to motor vehicle repair facilities and mechanics.

• Redefines "heavy-duty truck" as a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,000 pounds or more, including single-unit and combination tractor trailer or tractor semitrailer vehicles.

• Establishes definitions for "automobile or light truck" as motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 14,000 pounds.

• Adds definitions for BAIID mechanics and BAIID service, relating to breath alcohol ignition interlock device installation, removal, repair, and servicing (effective July 1, 2016).

• Became effective immediately upon approval by the Governor on October 16, 2020.
