Adds transit police officers employed by public bodies under interlocal agreements between cities and metropolitan transportation authorities to the definition of "law enforcement officer" under the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Act.

Transit police officers must be employed pursuant to an interlocal agreement under the urban cooperation act of 1967 and between a city and an authority under the metropolitan transportation authorities act of 1967.

Clarifies the definition of "license" to reference January 2, 2017 as the effective date for certificates issued before the amendatory act.

Maintains existing exclusions and requirements for law enforcement officer licensure and training standards.
