HB 5427 Summary

• Modifies the Michigan cyber civilian corps advisory board composition to include the adjutant general, department director, state police director, and talent and economic development director (or designees).

• Requires the advisory board to meet at least twice annually and review/recommend on policies, procedures, and individuals applying for nondeployable advisor status.

• Requires the chief information officer to consult with the advisory board before approving tools, determining expertise standards, and establishing training and compliance tracking processes for the program.

• Requires the department to publish operational guidelines including standards for volunteers, client eligibility requirements, and client selection/prioritization processes.

• Effective March 24, 2021, contingent on enactment of House Bill 5426.
