School districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies serving grades 6-12 must include a suicide prevention hotline telephone number on student identification cards, effective 1 year after the act's passage.

The required hotline number must be a local, state, or national suicide prevention hotline accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Schools are encouraged to display model suicide prevention information materials developed by the Department of Health and Human Services on their website, in counselor offices, and in principal offices.

The Department of Health and Human Services shall develop or adopt model information materials regarding suicide prevention, depression, and anxiety upon request from schools.

Schools and school officials are granted immunity from criminal and civil liability for failure to comply with the identification card requirement under this act.
