HB 5513 Summary

• Amends the "Right to Try Act" (2014 PA 345) by updating the reference range for articles under the Public Health Code from ending at MCL 333.22260 to MCL 333.21925.

• Prohibits licensing boards and disciplinary subcommittees from revoking, failing to renew, suspending, or taking action against a health care provider's license based solely on recommendations regarding access to investigational drugs, biological products, or devices for eligible patients.

• Prohibits entities responsible for Medicare certification from taking action against a health care provider's Medicare certification based solely on their recommendation that a patient have access to investigational drugs, biological products, or devices.

• Capitalizes "Medicare" for proper styling in references to Medicare certification.

• Takes effect 90 days after enactment, contingent upon passage of HB 5510.
