HB 5803 Summary

• Replaces "upon" with "on" throughout the section for grammatical consistency.

• Eliminates the requirement for courts to report misdemeanor vehicle code convictions to the Department of State Police unless the offense is punishable by more than 92 days imprisonment, is a second conviction offense, or a judge orders reporting.

• Removes former subsection (4) that exempted violations of MCL 257.904 (a specific vehicle code section) from reporting requirements unless ordered by the court.

• Renumbers former subsections (5), (6), (7), and (8) to become subsections (4), (5), (6), and (7) respectively.

• Takes effect only if Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 5802 is enacted into law.
