• Amends the definition of "Department" in the Paid Medical Leave Act from "Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs" to "Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity."

• Modifies the definition of "eligible employee" to clarify that certain exclusions do not apply during declared states of emergency under Michigan law.

• Suspends three employee exclusions from paid medical leave requirements during a state of emergency: employees employed 25 weeks or fewer in a calendar year, variable hour employees, and employees who worked fewer than 25 hours per week on average during the preceding calendar year.

• Adds a comma to the definition of "family member" in subsection (1)(g)(i) after "adopted" and modifies the definition of "paid medical leave" to include the word "and" before "that can be used."
