HB 6149 Summary

• Adds provisions allowing the Liquor and Cannabis Regulatory Commission to issue licenses to private entities for selling alcoholic liquor at baseball stadiums on Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University land.

• Requires that for Eastern Michigan University, the stadium and adjacent outdoor service area must be leased or subleased at fair market value during the summer period between the end of the university's spring term and the beginning of its fall term.

• Requires that for Oakland University, the stadium and adjacent outdoor service area must be leased or subleased at fair market value during the summer period between the end of the university's spring term and the beginning of its fall term.

• Clarifies that such licenses are nontransferable and the licensee must pay the required fee under section 525 of the liquor control code.

• Renumbers existing subsections (7) and (8) to (9) and (10) respectively to accommodate the new provisions for the two universities.
