HB 6247 Summary

• Changes the council administrator's role from "shall be" to "is" the chief executive officer of legislative council agencies, and from "shall serve" to "serves" at the pleasure of the council.

• Removes the requirement that the council administrator act "at the direction of the Michigan state capitol commission" when administering compensation, benefits, computer, telephone, and technical support.

• Specifies that the council administrator provides personnel support and technical support for employees of the council described under section 6 of the Michigan state capitol historic site act (2013 PA 240, MCL 4.1946).

• Does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 6246 (request no. 06877'20) of the 100th Legislature is enacted into law.
