MI HB6333

Allocates seats in the Michigan House of Representatives between political parties based on the results of the immediately preceding general election, during organization of the house on the first day of the first regular session of each legislature.

Grants the majority leader authority to assign each member of the majority caucus to a seat, and grants the minority leader authority to assign each member of the minority caucus to a seat.

Authorizes the majority leader to assign any member not assigned a seat by either caucus leader to a seat.

Requires that all seat assignments be printed in the house journal.

Does not apply if section 54 of article IV of the Michigan Constitution of 1963 is repealed or amended after the bill's effective date; became effective immediately upon approval on December 29, 2020.
