• Modifies public notice requirements for tax increment financing authorities by referencing the local government public notice act beginning January 1, 2022.

• Changes notice publication method from twice in a newspaper to posting as provided in the local government public notice act, effective January 1, 2022, while maintaining the 20-day advance notice requirement.

• Applies the new notice procedures to both authority establishment hearings (MCL 125.4404) and development/tax increment financing plan hearings (MCL 125.4416).

• Through December 31, 2021, existing newspaper publication requirements remain in effect; the transition to the local government public notice act occurs January 1, 2022.
