Changes ordinance publication requirements for housing commissions created on or after January 1, 2022 to use the local government public notice act instead of requiring newspaper publication and posting in public places.

Updates election procedures for housing commission creation referendums, allowing submission at the next general election or special election as determined by the local unit's governing body rather than requiring immediate special elections.

Requires the bill to take effect only upon enactment of Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 6440 (a companion bill).
