HB 6416 Summary

• Removes the phrase "No airport" from the beginning of Section 19, changing the provision to simply state "Airport zoning regulations shall be adopted, amended, or changed under this act."

• Requires that if a public hearing on airport zoning is held before January 1, 2022, at least 15 days' notice must be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the affected political subdivision.

• Requires that if a public hearing is held on or after January 1, 2022, notice must be given under the local government public notice act beginning at least 15 days before the hearing, plus notice under sections 103(2) and (3) of the Michigan zoning enabling act.

• Bill does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 6440 is also enacted into law.
