Amends MCL 247.43 to modify notice requirements for applications to abandon, discontinue, vacate, or alter highways bordering lakes or streams.

Before January 1, 2022, notice must be published once weekly for 3 successive weeks in a county newspaper and posted in 3 public places at least 20 days before the hearing.

Beginning January 1, 2022, notice must be posted under the local government public notice act instead of newspaper publication, with copies sent by first-class mail.

Requires notice be sent by first-class mail to property owners within 300 feet of the highway, local government officials, the state transportation department, the department of natural resources, and the applicable township at least 30 days before the hearing.

The presiding circuit judge must schedule a hearing on the application no later than 60 days after filing, with the department of natural resources and township reviewing the application to determine if the property should be retained as an ingress and egress point.
