Recognizes Michigan's food and agriculture industry as contributing more than $104.7 billion annually to the state's economy and supporting approximately 932,000 jobs.

Highlights Michigan's agricultural diversity with over 47,000 farms (99 percent family-owned) producing more than 300 commodities, ranking first nationally in asparagus, tart cherries, cucumbers, squash, and specific bean varieties.

Notes Michigan ranks 6th nationally in milk production and exports approximately one-third of its agricultural commodities annually, generating nearly $2.8 billion with Canada as the primary export market.

Acknowledges Michigan's food processing sector with over 3,200 licensed facilities employing more than 30,000 residents and generating over $30 billion in economic activity.
