Declares May 2020 as Foster Care Awareness Month in Michigan to recognize and honor foster families and those who support children in the foster care system.

Acknowledges that approximately 13,000 children and youths in Michigan are currently in the foster care system receiving care from foster and relative foster families.

Recognizes foster families' vital role in providing safe, stable homes and helping children and families heal, reconnect, and transition to successful adulthood.

Encourages Michigan citizens to volunteer as mentors to children in foster care and calls on the state to improve conditions and support for children in the foster care system.
