Recognizes women's military service dating back to the American Revolution, including formal service through the Army Nurse Corps (established 1901) and later through women's military branches created during World War II.

Notes that women were historically referred to as "invisible veterans" due to lack of public recognition and were often denied veteran status and benefits until the 1970s-1980s.

Acknowledges that nearly 44,000 women veterans currently reside in Michigan, out of over 2 million women veterans nationally, and highlights improvements in women veteran healthcare access through the Veterans Health Administration.

Urges all Michigan residents to honor women veterans on this day.
