Argues that defunding or abolishing police departments would burden remaining departments, put citizens at risk, and harm Michigan's economy by discouraging business investment and tourism.

Acknowledges that misconduct by some law enforcement officers demonstrates a need for reform, but contends that defunding police gives a false impression that law enforcement generally is harmful to communities.

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Michigan Townships Association, Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Association of Counties, Michigan Association of Mayors, and Michigan Association of Township Supervisors.
