SB 74 Summary

• Amends the enhanced driver license and state personal identification card program to accommodate participants in the address confidentiality program, requiring the Secretary of State to issue corrected cards displaying a designated address instead of the actual residence address.

• Beginning 180 days after the effective date, applicants who are address confidentiality program participants must present their participation card, and any enhanced license or ID card issued to them must display only the designated address.

• Requires the Secretary of State to update cards upon receiving notice from the Department of the Attorney General that an individual has been certified as a program participant, with corrected cards mailed to the designated address.

• Maintains all existing requirements for enhanced driver licenses and state personal identification cards, including security measures and radio frequency identification technology protections.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment, conditioned on Senate Bill No. 70 of the 100th Legislature being enacted into law.
