• Extends the statute of limitations for employees to bring violations claims under the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act from "at any time" to within 3 years after the violation occurs.

• Clarifies that the commissioner or the commissioner's designee investigates claims filed by employees with the commissioner.

• Authorizes the commissioner or designee to investigate violations and file civil actions on behalf of similarly situated employees at the same work site who have not brought their own actions.

• Adds a new provision allowing employees who file claims to request that the commissioner keep their identity confidential from the employer, to the extent allowed by law.
