Modifies work search requirements for unemployment benefit eligibility by requiring individuals to conduct a systematic and sustained search and report details at least once every 2 weeks instead of monthly intervals.

Allows claimants to satisfy work search requirements through multiple methods including using Michigan works agency office resources, attending job search seminars, creating professional networking profiles, applying for positions, registering with employment agencies, or taking civil service exams.

Prohibits counting duplicate activities toward work search requirements, such as applying for the same position within 4 weeks, resubmitting resumes to the same site, or contacting an employer multiple times to check availability (except through union hiring halls).

Requires the unemployment agency to request but not require individuals applying for benefits to provide base period employer unemployment account numbers and federal employer identification numbers.

Effective date: April 2, 2020 with immediate effect.
