Applicants for mechanical contractor work classification examinations must now meet one or more of three eligibility paths instead of a single requirement: (a) 3 years or 6,000 hours of experience with notarized employer statements, (b) continuously holding a relevant license for 3+ years with cross-classification pathways, or (c) military service experience with documentation.

Adds new license classifications: "Limited heating service," "Limited refrigeration and air conditioning service," "Unlimited heating service," and "Unlimited refrigeration and air conditioning service," while maintaining existing categories.

Permits military service experience to count toward the 3-year or 6,000-hour requirement if applicant provides DD214, DD215, or equivalent documentation showing honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable conditions, plus a commanding officer affidavit describing mechanical contractor experience.

Allows completion of a 2-year HVAC program from an accredited trade school, community college, university, or U.S. Department of Labor-approved program to credit up to 1 year or 2,000 hours toward the required 3 years or 6,000 hours of work experience.

Establishes that licensees holding specific classifications for 3+ years may apply for related higher-tier classifications (e.g., holders of "HVAC equipment" licenses may apply for "Ductwork" or other specified classifications).
