Senate Bill 904 Summary

• Secretary of State may extend the renewal deadline for enhanced driver licenses and enhanced state personal identification cards if they expired during a governor-declared state of disaster or emergency under the Emergency Management Act.

• Extended enhanced driver licenses or identification cards remain valid for 60 days after the state of disaster or emergency ends.

• Secretary of State may waive late renewal penalties for cards that expired within one week before a declared emergency if the Secretary of State had already closed its branches before the declaration.

• Provision does not apply to licenses or cards that were suspended or restricted before the emergency declaration.

• Bill takes effect only if Senate Bills 902 and 903 from the 100th Legislature are also enacted.
