• Allocates up to $6,000,000 annually from general sales tax collections (4% rate) to the fireworks safety fund beginning in fiscal year 2021 and each fiscal year thereafter.

• Designated funds must be used for training firefighters under the direction and approval of the firefighters training council established under the firefighters training council act, 1966 PA 291.

• Distribution occurs after existing allocations to cities/villages/townships (15%), state school aid fund (60%), comprehensive transportation fund (27.9% of 25%), aviation funds, and health initiatives fund.

• Clarifies that the firewo​​rks safety fund appropriation comes from the balance of 4% sales tax collections remaining after all other required distributions.

• Makes technical correction changing "shall" to "must" in subsection (8) regarding exemption reporting requirements.
