SB 982 Summary

• Adds definition of "ready-to-use pesticide" to describe pesticides applied directly from original container without mixing or loading, such as aerosol insecticides or rodenticide bait packs.

• Creates new category of "trained serviceperson" as a type of registered applicator who completes 4 weeks of training and works only under direct supervision of a certified applicator, without requiring the standard test.

• Prohibits trained servicepersons from holding themselves out to the public as being in the pesticide application business and restricts them to employment by the person who provided their training.

• Changes language throughout statute from "person" to "individual" to clarify that pesticide application requirements apply to individuals rather than business entities.

• Effective 90 days after enactment.
