• Requires new elementary teachers beginning July 1, 2024, to earn at least 12 early elementary and 9 later elementary credits in reading instruction, covering phonemic awareness, comprehension, dyslexia characteristics, and evidence-based interventions.

• Mandates that all teachers complete professional learning on dyslexia identification, secondary consequences of dyslexia, evidence-based interventions, accommodations, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) before advancing to professional certification, with different requirements for elementary versus secondary teachers.
