Designates October 2020 as Michigan Library Appreciation Month to celebrate the contributions of Michigan's libraries, librarians, and library staff.

Recognizes Michigan's libraries (school, public, academic, tribal, and special) as vital institutions and dynamic centers of discovery, lifelong learning, and cornerstones in healthy communities.

Acknowledges that libraries provide free access to accurate information, serve diverse populations regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, or socioeconomic status, and play critical roles during times of crisis.

Notes that half of all Michiganders hold library cards and visit libraries in-person over 43 million times annually, access online services nearly 50 million times annually, and borrow nearly 40 million items each year.

Encourages all Michigan residents to visit their library's website during October 2020 to explore available services, resources, and collections.
