Reduces concealed pistol license application and licensing fee from $100.00 to not more than $45.00, with $15.00 forwarded to state treasury for the Department of State Police and remaining balance deposited in county concealed pistol licensing fund.

Specifies the Department of State Police may only use received funds for processing fingerprints, reimbursing the FBI for fingerprint processing costs, and reimbursing the department for costs related to concealed pistol licensing requirements.

Removes reference to Michigan Penal Code section 226a (sale or possession of a switchblade) from the list of misdemeanor convictions that disqualify applicants from obtaining a concealed pistol license.

Changes mandatory language from "shall" to "must" in provisions requiring maintenance of name index records in the database and providing notice of statutory disqualifications to applicants.

Updates reference to law enforcement officers safety act to cite 18 USC 926c for acceptable proof requirements for retired federal law enforcement officers applying for concealed pistol licenses.

Bill takes effect only if House Bill No. 4498 of the 101st Legislature is enacted into law.
