Creates new felony offense for setting or leaving a contraption or device intentionally made to cause injury or death in places where individuals may contact it, punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment or $1,000 fine.

Increases penalty to up to 5 years imprisonment or $5,000 fine if violation causes injury to another individual.

Increases penalty to up to 10 years imprisonment or $7,500 fine if violation causes serious impairment of a body function, as defined in the Michigan vehicle code.

Increases penalty to up to 15 years imprisonment or $10,000 fine if violation causes death of another individual.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment into law.
