Requires written contracts for residential construction improvements, with contract type at least as large as the body text disclosing licensing requirements for residential builders, electricians, plumbing contractors, and mechanical contractors.

Mandates contractors required to be licensed must display their license and personal identification when recording a claim of lien in person, or attach copies of both documents if filing by other means.

Prohibits registers of deeds from accepting claims of lien from required-to-be-licensed contractors unless the contractor displays or attaches copies of their license and personal identification.

Establishes violations as misdemeanors punishable by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.

Defines "personal identification" as an operator's license, chauffeur's license, enhanced driver license, or official state personal identification card issued by Michigan.
