HB 5247 Summary

• Creates a new local agency infrastructure disaster relief fund and allocates $5,000,000 annually from motor fuel tax revenue (3 cents of the tax under MCL 207.1008) to this fund for disaster relief purposes.

• Reorganizes and renumbers existing fund allocations in the Michigan Transportation Fund by inserting the new disaster relief fund allocation and adjusting subsequent subdivision letters accordingly (subdivisions (e) through (m)).

• Adjusts the movable bridge fund allocation to include an annual adjustment equal to the Detroit Consumer Price Index increase from the previous year.

• Makes various technical corrections including grammar changes ("shall" to "must," "pursuant to" to "under") and clarifies references to related statutes throughout the transportation fund sections.
