Eliminates the requirement for a license to carry a concealed pistol on or about a person's body or in a vehicle, removing the previous restriction limiting concealed carry to dwelling houses, places of business, or possessed land.

Maintains the prohibition on carrying daggers, dirks, stilettos, double-edged nonfolding stabbing instruments, and other dangerous weapons, but continues to exempt hunting knives adapted and carried as hunting knives.

Repeals Section 231a of the Michigan Penal Code (MCL 750.231a), which previously governed pistol licensing.

Updates grammatical language in Section 230 regarding the alteration or removal of firearm identification marks and corrects a reference from section 231a(2) to section 237a.

Bill's effectiveness is contingent upon the enactment of either Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 5367 (tie bar provision).
