Allows Kent County to add 1 additional probate judge, bringing the total from 4 to 5 judges, effective January 1, 2023, subject to section 805.

Changes statutory language throughout section 803 from "shall be" to "is" and "shall" to "must" to modernize legal terminology.

Eliminates the sunset provision for Huron County's temporary increase to 2 probate judges (previously set to expire April 1, 2012) and makes the combined probate/judicial district judge position permanent.

Eliminates the temporary increase and sunset provisions for Chippewa County's probate judges that were previously scheduled to begin April 1, 2012, reverting to 1 judge with the office combined with the ninety-first judicial district.

Requires that when new probate judgeships are authorized, they must appear on the ballot separately from other judicial offices in primary and general elections.
