Establishes extended licensing for foster family homes and foster family group homes beginning January 1, 2023.

Extended licenses are valid for 3 years (instead of the standard 2-year biennial renewal) and must be renewed every 3 years.

Eligibility requirements: foster homes must have been licensed for at least 1 year and be in good standing with the department.

Extended licenses are subject to the same revocation and provisional modification provisions as regular licenses under existing law.

Takes effect immediately upon approval on October 7, 2022.
