Requires heightened disinfection and filtration standards including regenerative media filters, water turnover every 4 hours or less, ultraviolet secondary disinfection, and increased inlets and skimmers.

Mandates water temperature maintained at 104 degrees Fahrenheit or less, free disinfectant residual testing at least 4 times daily, lifeguard service during operation, and a certified pool operator readily available.

Prohibits slides, diving boards, starting blocks, and spray features in areas where alcoholic liquor is served and consumed, though decorative features like waterfalls are permitted.

Requires food and beverages be served in nonbreakable plastic or similar containers designed to reduce spilling into pool water; act effective immediately upon enactment of HB 5984.
