Adds authority for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to sell carbon credits or ecological services from state forest and other state-owned lands under specified conditions.

Requires carbon credits or ecological services to be verified by a third party before sale.

Mandates that sale of carbon credits or ecological services cannot prevent or restrict continued land management according to the department's existing land management plans or strategies.

Directs proceeds from carbon credit and ecological service sales to be deposited into the forest development fund established in section 50507, unless otherwise provided by law.

Renumbers existing subsections (4) and (5) to (5) and (6) respectively to accommodate the new carbon credits provision.
