Requires state departments, state and local law enforcement agencies, and prosecutors to notify the county department of veterans' affairs (or county board of commissioners if no such department exists) within 24 hours of receiving a report of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a veteran.

Notice must include the veteran's name, description of the alleged abuse or exploitation, and if available, the veteran's age and guardian or next of kin information.

County departments of veterans' affairs that receive notice must proceed according to existing procedures under 1953 PA 192, MCL 35.623b.

County boards of commissioners that receive notice must contact the affected veteran (or their guardian/power of attorney holder) and refer them to services administered by the department of military and veterans affairs.

Act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 6084 is enacted into law.
