Removes the prohibition preventing the independent citizens redistricting commission from meeting in closed session, allowing it to hold closed meetings like other public bodies.

Deletes subsection (2) of MCL 15.268, which explicitly stated the Open Meetings Act does not permit the independent citizens redistricting commission to meet in closed session for any purpose.

Makes the independent citizens redistricting commission subject to the same closed session provisions available to other public bodies under the Open Meetings Act.

Condition: Bill takes effect only if Senate Joint Resolution ____ or House Joint Resolution HJR S (request no. 05199'21) of the 101st Legislature becomes part of the Michigan Constitution.
