Defines acceptable proof of veteran status as either a veteran designation on a Michigan operator's license or other evidence approved by the department in consultation with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Defines acceptable proof of active military membership as current leave papers, military orders, or other evidence approved by the department in consultation with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Defines "active member of the military" as individuals regularly enlisted or commissioned in the Armed Forces of the United States, or reserve component or National Guard members called to federal active duty
