Raises the legal age restriction for tobacco, vapor, and alternative nicotine products from under 18 to under 21 years of age across Michigan law.

Requires age verification before sale by examining government-issued photographic identification for individuals appearing under 27 years old, or using third-party age verification services for remote sales.

Establishes penalties of up to $100 for first offense, $500 for second offense, and $2,500 for third or subsequent offense for selling these products to minors.

Requires retailers to post department-approved signage at point of sale warning that minors cannot purchase or use tobacco, vapor, or alternative nicotine products and are subject to criminal penalties.

Takes effect July 21, 2022, contingent upon enactment of Senate Bills 576 and 577, Senate Bill 720, and House Bill 6109.
