MI HB6121

Establishes a Michigan legislative state medal program administered by the legislative council to award medals described in accompanying bills (HB 6118, 6119, and 6120).

Requires medal nominations to include a written account of the qualifying occurrence and supporting documentation such as eyewitness statements, official records, sketches, maps, diagrams, or photographs.

Designates the council administrator or designee to receive nominations and either submit complete nominations to the house and senate military and veterans affairs committee chairpersons or request additional information from the nominator.

Allows public submission of medal nominations through a dedicated website maintained by the council administrator and permits members of the house or senate to submit nominations directly to the relevant committee chairpersons.

Takes effect only if HB 6118, HB 6119, and HB 6120 are enacted into law.
