Health officers or designated public officials may issue orders requiring occupants to vacate dwellings if certified conditions exist, including contagious disease, uninhabitability, danger to life or health, defects in drainage/plumbing/lighting/ventilation/construction, or nuisances likely to cause sickness.

Vacate orders must require occupants to leave within not less than 24 hours and not more than 10 days after issuance and must state the reasons for the order.

Health officers may cause dwelling evacuation if occupants fail to comply with the vacate order within the specified timeframe.

Health officers may revoke vacate orders or extend compliance deadlines if satisfied that the danger has ceased or the dwelling is fit for human habitation.
